In Melbourne (Donvale) more than 70 species of acacias (many in bloom) and a bush billabong will welcome you on 3-4 September
 
Owners Sue Guymer and Bill Aitchinson (Bill is the convenor of the Acacia Study Group (ANPS)) have created a beautiful garden that will be opened for the first time by Open Gardens Victoria. It is a superb native habitat garden adjoining Mullum Mullum Creek.

Event description

Wattle Day is a day to celebrate all things Australian. And to celebrate Wattle Day the Victorian Folk Music Club inc is planning* a day of sessions and workshops to stimulate interest in music on Saturday 3rd September.

Each session or workshop lasts an hour. Attend as many as you like. A small charge of $10 for the whole day will help us cover expenses.  Separate (additional) admission charges apply to the evening Family Bush Dance with Blackberry Jam.

The two daytime ’streams’ will run simultaneously.  You can swap between streams whenever you like.

To celebrate National Wattle Day and Biodiversity Month, Council is hosting a wattle identification workshop and walk and talk in partnership with the Friends of Gisborne Botanic Gardens and the Friends of Daly Reserve.

Enjoy some tastings of wattle recipes provided by the Murnong Mammas, who use local and native ingredients.
