National Wattle Day on 1 September across Australia was proclaimed an official national day in Australia in 1992

What is it all about?

There is no one way and so many ways to celebrate National Wattle Day (1 September).
We are going to share ideas with you over the next month or you can see them all at once here

First of all, spread the word to your representatives in state and local government!

  1. Ask your state or territory parliamentarian to promote the celebration of National Wattle Day (1 September) to their electorate
  2. Ask your local council what they have planned for National Wattle Day
  3. Ask your local council to highlight a local wattle in your area
  4. Light up! Ask your local council to light up your local landmarks in green and gold on 1 September for National Wattle Day and then get out your cameras to record their night beauty.
